I'm Italian and I moved to Cyprus in mid-2016. One of the beautiful things I left behind is Burlesque.

When I settled down in my new home land, I sadly realized that this kind of dancing and shows do not exist here.

So I decided to offer as burlesque teacher to almost all the dance schools and fitness studios all over Cyprus. But the answer everytime was NO.

Why? In the end they didn't know, they just said no without giving a clear explanation or even without listening to what I was trying to tell them about Burlesque.

At that point I realized that in Cyprus there's not a clear idea of what Burlesque is. People usually haven't ever heard about it or think it's a dirty striptease. Or, more often, that is a high-heel dance on the music from the movie "Burlesque" (check my post for more info: Burlesque-the movie)

So I decided that people - and of course women in first istance- on this beautiful island need someone to tell and show them that Burlesque is nothing to be ashamed of. Indeed, it's something that makes every woman feel even more special.

With me it worked. It was somehow therapeutic. In fact, except when the music requires an intense interpretation, I usually smile a lot when dancing, it comes naturally to me. Because it makes me feel fine and because above all Burlesque is a lot of fun!!!
