A good way to approach Burlesque performing is making first some kittening experience.
Stage kittens are those fabulous creatures that, at the end of each performance, pick up from the stage the costume pieces and props. More and more they have become iconic elements of many Burlesque shows.
They are perfectly dressed in Burlesque-style and they accomplish their task in a sensual and at the same time funny way. They can be seen as the element that can make a show run more smoothly, allowing seamless transitions from number to number.
Famous international performers have their own. In other cases it is the venue’s organizers that arrange for one or more stage kittens available for all the performers.
Being a stage kitten is a very busy, vital part to the show and allows to see the performances not from the point of view of the audience, but from within. This means that a stage kitten may have the opportunity to be revealed the ropes, while behind the scene she helps the performers wearing their costumes.
