Every body is a Burlesque body
Burlesque is not simply a dance or artform. It's a state of mind.
If you are deeply and actively part of the Burlesque Community, you cannot help but promoting, encouraging and embracing positive concepts and behaviours such as: #SelfLove #Sisterhood #CurvyIsBeautiful #SexyAtAnyAge #NoBodyShaming.
I deem this a duty pertaining to all performers. In particular to teachers, who shall transmit these ideas and concepts to their Burlesque beginners, creating a friendly and encouraging environment, where women of any age, size and shape can learn how to enhance their femininity, love themselves and their bodies, appreciate and support each other, express their creativity and give a boost to their self-esteem.
That’s what we mean with #BodyPositivity.
