How is a typical class with Vanilla Rose?

Let's start saying that if you wish to start taking Burlesque classes, please bear in mind that as a beginner you do not need any previous experience in dance. You just need to wear your dance shoes and your best smile, and let the teacher (Vanilla Rose, if you are in Cyprus!) guide you to the discovery of this magical world! And it’s all inside of you, ladies, you just need to bring out your seductive potential!

Moreover, there is not limit in age. Could you believe it? Worldwide there are Burlesque performers, teachers and students in their sixties and seventies! This is possible because Burlesque is the art of seduction, the fun-way to dance and do a clever workout, the self-esteem booster!

We play music from Julie London, Imelda May, Sam Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Eartha Kitt and many other artists from the 40s, 50s and 60s, as well as from contemporary artists with an old-time-style, such as Michael Buble’, Christina Aguileira, Karen Souza, Robin Stine and many others.

We wear our dance shoes and feel fabulous with our beautiful dresses (but no worries, also leggings and t-shirt work, as long as you feel at ease). We start every time with a warm-up. Standing in front of the mirror, my girls dance with me in what I call free-style improvisation: they follow my moves and we dance together.

We practice all the basic and essential techniques (walking, static poses, teasing, bumps, grinds, shimmies, etc.), then we proceed with a focus on a specific topic, that varies each week: veil dance, or umbrella & hat, or character playing, balloon dance, glove peel, boa routines, or… There's no risk of getting bored ;-)

What else? Oh, yes! What cannot miss in our sessions are: smiles, laughters, fun, cheering, clapping!!! We dance in a very friendly and supportive atmosphere, each of us feeling beautiful and surrounded by other extraordinary women.
