The balloon dance

One of the most classic acts in Burlesque is the balloon dance.

As the name itself suggests, for this kind of act the performer affixes some balloons to her costume and pops them one by one, revealing her beautiful costume or, more often, a tiny bikini or even less.

To pop the balloons she uses a needle secured to an accessory such as: a flower, a lollipop, a big feather or to any other object that can be part of the choreography. Someone may also use a lighted cigarette for this purpose (if allowed on stage!).

This act is usually one of the most appreciated by the audience, because it’s funny, colorful, vibrating.
