Playing a role or character in a Burlesque act

A small dose of acting or rather role playing is an essential feature in Burlesque.

Each performance or act may tell a little story and the burlesquer plays a specific role, which of course requires an adequate outfit and the right music.

So on stage a performer can be from time to time a pin-up, a diva, a Lolita, a man, a secretary, a waitress, a saloon dancer, a can-can dancer, a bride, a fetish mistress, an exotic dancer, a 20s flapper, a circus artist, etc.
